During the recent closures to the restaurant/Nightclubs in the city of Norfolk they city overlooked the amount of jobs they were taken from citizens just like you and I. Single mothers and fathers, students, Retired Military Veterans Business owners and just individuals trying to make an honest living. We have yet to hear from the city about how they will assist with employing those who lost Primary and Secondary income. We are sending them this letter to see how they plan to assist those that they snatched jobs away from with the unemployment rate already being a 3.6 as of August 2022. 

This petition is a time sensitive request supported by the terminated employees, friends, and families impacted by your termination of our employment. 

We are asking you, if you are not going to speak to us, please hear us. Please provide us an opportunity where we can secure additional employment with businesses you consider preferable to your vision for the city. Whether you do this as a job fair or online resources in partnership with Downtown Norfolk Council, Downtown Norfolk Civic League, our university campuses or through whatever avenues you deem appropriate. Many of us have voted for you, shaken your hands and laughed at your jokes when you visit our churches or schools. We are asking that you do not put us both out of work and out of mind.
