Late Spring Operations

High alpine spring vibes can be enjoyed all the way into May at Breck!

High Five to Spring Vibes into May

Spring is one of our favorite times of the year at Breck for skiing and riding, and there are plenty of chances to get your spring turns in with the resort regularly scheduled to operate as long as possible into May, until the snow melts! Thanks to a base elevation of 9,600 feet above sea-level, including the highest chairlift in North America – the Imperial SuperChair – and the good work of our friend, Ullr, Breck often boasts spectacular spring snow conditions, and offers one of the longest-running ski seasons of any major resort in the country.

Beginning in late April, intermediate-, advanced- and expert-level skiers and riders can celebrate spring and get on snow long after many resorts have closed for the season, with access to signature high alpine terrain across Peaks 6, 7 and 8. Warmer weather, long sunny days, goggle tans and the occasional spring powder day - what's not to love?!

Heads up! There is no beginner terrain available during late spring operations and all skiing and riding is intermediate-and-above level terrain.

Late Spring Operating Plans

All Five Peaks will remain open through Sunday, April 14. Beginning Monday, April 15 we will start to move to our late season operating footprint. While operations are always subject to change, and Mother Nature has the ultimate say since everything on mountain is weather and conditions dependent, if everything goes according to plan, here is what’s on tap for our late season operations. We’re planning to ski and ride as long as the snow lasts into May!

Please be advised, there is no beginner terrain available during late season. The following lifts will operate for late spring skiing and riding from 9 AM to 4 PM for the remainder of the season:

Peak 8
Base area access out of Peak 8 is planned through April 28; after that all access to late season skiing and riding will be out of Peak 7 and the Independence SuperChair.

  • Colorado SuperChair (through April 28)
  • Imperial SuperChair
  • T-Bar

Peak 7

  • Independence SuperChair

Peak 6

  • Zendo Chair
  • Kensho SuperChair

BreckConnect Gondola
The BreckConnect Gondola will operate daily through April 28, 2024 for access to Peaks 7 and 8. After April 28, the BreckConnect Gondola will be closed for the season until we open for summer operations on Friday, June 14. This is a part of our collaboration with the Town of Breckenridge to help support the health of the Cucumber Gulch Preserve and wildlife that migrates through the gulch and under the gondola in the spring. Starting April 29, after the closure of the BreckConnect Gondola, buses will be used to transport skiers and riders up to the resort.

Ski & Snowboard School Lessons
Group and private lessons with the Breckenridge Ski & Snowboard School will be available through Sunday, April 21. For information and to book, visit our Ski & Snowboard School page.
