All You Need to Know About Bird’s Expanded Community Pricing Program

Everyone should have access to safe, sustainable and affordable transportation.

This simple principle has helped guide our operations since day one and, while we haven’t always gotten it exactly right, we continue to turn to it to keep us focused on what matters. Successful micromobility services must adapt to the evolving needs of the community, not the other way around.

So today we’re proud to announce the next step in our efforts to meet the mobility demands of a rapidly changing world: Bird’s newly expanded Community Pricing Program.

Inspired in part by the positive response to our Free Rides for Healthcare Professionals and Free Rides for Teachers initiatives, our expanded Community Pricing Program offers a 50% discount to low income riders, Pell grant recipients, select local nonprofit and community organizations, veterans and senior citizens. It’s designed to be the most inclusive micromobility discount program available anywhere.

“In a world of distance and uncertainty, the ability to move safely, sustainably and affordably becomes more important than ever,” said Rebecca Hahn, Bird’s Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer. “We hope that our new, expanded Community Pricing Program will not only bring greater transportation access to those impacted by recent strains on public transit, but that it will also be a small source of reliability and assurance for people during a year that has been anything but.”

To sign up for our Community Pricing Program, follow these three steps:

  1. Download the Bird app
  2. Create an account
  3. Email your proof of eligibility to access@bird.co

Please allow 2-3 business days for our team to review and approve your submission.

“Community Corp Santa Monica is thrilled that Bird is offering new Community Pricing to our residents. Many of our staff and residents already use Birds as a way to get around Santa Monica, and this discounted offering will provide a lower cost that will help during these challenging times.”

– Tara Barauskas, Community Corp of Santa Monica
