Providing Free Mobility To Healthcare Workers In Times Of Crisis

Medical professionals carry an enormous responsibility during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now it’s our turn to help carry them.

Starting today, Bird is proud to offer free electric scooter rides to healthcare workers and emergency personnel. To sign up, simply email a copy of your medical identification card along with your name and phone number to together@bird.co. Eligible riders will receive two free 30-minute rides per day for as long as it takes to help our communities recover from this global health crisis.

While the program will initially be available in Tel Aviv (IL), Antwerp (BE), Santa Monica (US) and Culver City (US), we’re also looking for other ways that micromobility can help the medical community worldwide. In the northern Italian city of Turin, we’ve loaned a small fleet of Bird electric scooters to the local Red Cross to help deliver food and medicine to elderly residents and COVID-19 patients confined to their homes.

Update: Bird is proud to now offer free rides to medical and emergency personnel nationwide across the US, as well as to an increasing number of international cities including Paris (FR) and Turin (IT).

Our team is closely monitoring the rapidly-evolving factors impacting global operations to determine the feasibility of extending these programs and initiatives to other partner cities as well.
