Choose your own area to clean, which could be anywhere that needs a little TLC!
(All self-selected cleanup sites must be within the City of Fresno.)

OR you can join us at any one of our four Beautify Fresno hub cleanup sites:

  • D3 – Downtown Hub: San Joaquin Street to Tuolumne Street between H and M Streets (in cooperation with the Downtown Fresno Partnership).

  • D4 & D7 – Central Hub: Blackstone Corridor between Shields and Ashlan.
  • D5 – Southeast Hub: Streets and neighborhoods around Butler and Chestnut Avenues (in cooperation with Every Neighborhood Partnership).

Beautify Fresno will provide all the supplies and all you need to do is to sign up, show up and clean up between 8:00 – 10:00 a.m! (Supplies are offered FREE to registered volunteers – paper picker, gloves, trash bags – with no need to return the items.)

The first 1,500 participants will receive a free t-shirt and a ticket to “Beautify Fresno Night” with the Fresno Grizzlies on Saturday, August 5. Every participant is also invited to the after-party at Manchester Center at 10:00 a.m., with free food trucks, music, and fun!

Photos can be uploaded and are helpful to our collection crews so that no bags or items are missed.

Be sure to have the following information ready:

  • Exact location of your bags (address or cross the street, ex: “3600 Blackstone Ave.”,  “Radio Park”, “Corner of Shaw and Palm”)
  • Description of the location (ex: “5 bags located between two trees on the north side of the main parking lot”)
  • Time that your cleanup activity will be finished

Due to the limited availability of sanitation crews, reported bags may not be picked up until August 5. Please take your bags to the cleanup hub locations, if at all possible.

You can also take your bags to dispose of them with your normal garbage collection but must follow standard residential garbage/recycling guidelines.

If you do not receive an email to report your results after the event, report them on the Post Event Wrap-Up Form. One form per group.

What is the Mayor’s Citywide Community CleanUP Day?

The Mayor’s Citywide Community CleanUP Day is the single largest community cleanup and beautification event in Fresno, presented by Beautify Fresno. We’re inviting non-profits, service clubs, schools, churches, businesses, and individuals to pick up litter from parks, streets, creeks, and other public areas on Saturday, August 6.

What are the goals for this event?

Beautify Fresno works to ensure our city is a cleaner, greener, more beautiful place to live. No one individual can do this alone – it takes all of us. This is why we invite people like you to participate in our community activities and support our programs.

The heart of Beautify Fresno is our volunteers. Since the start of the program, more than 21,000 volunteers have removed in excess of 271,000 tons of trash from Fresno’s streets, parks, neighborhoods, parking lots, and industrial areas.

Who can participate?

Everyone! Individuals, community organizations, businesses, non-profits, service clubs, sports teams, and scout troops all are welcome to participate in this event.

Is there any cost to participate?

There is no cost to participate. Beautify Fresno provides gloves and trash bags to all registered participants. Event t-shirts are also provided to the first 1,500 registrants.

What ages can participate?

Youth, teens, and adults are welcome to participate.

Can volunteers choose a location to clean up?

Yes. Volunteers are encouraged to choose a location that is important to them. Locations can include parks, streets, school campuses, waterways, or even empty lots. Beautify Fresno will also choose four cleanup hubs throughout the city.

What do I do with the trash bags and/or recycling that was collected?

If possible, take your trash and recyclables to one of our designated cleanup hub locations. Locations are listed on the main page for the Mayor’s Citywide Community CleanUP Day.

If you cannot transport your collected trash and recyclables, schedule a pick-up with our collection crews. First, place all bagged trash and recycling together in as few piles as possible. Contact Beautify Fresno at (559) 621-8626 or email info@beautifyfresno.org.

You can also use the City’s free FresGO mobile app and submit a pickup request directly from your mobile phone. Please provide specific location details of your trash pile (street names, block numbers, landmarks, etc). Photos can be uploaded and are helpful to our collection crews so that no bags or items are missed.
