James (Jim) S. Lazar

James S. Lazar (Jim) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, surrounded by many loved ones. He was born and raised in Barberton, Ohio, graduating from Barberton high school in 1966. He attended Akron University and Kent State University. Jim retired from Norfolk - Southern Railroad in 2013.

Jim was generous with his time, very big-hearted, and known for his sense of humor. He is survived by siblings; John, Jerry (Kathy), Jeff, Joel Lazar, and Betsy (Gary, d.) Henry, 10 cherished nieces and nephews, and 12 great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his devoted second family; Aaron, Nike, Nyrell, Tahriq, Denico, Dakarai, DeMaiya, Hasan and Nasir. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
