Certificate Programs (Noncredit)- How To Apply

The noncredit programs, Spiritual Guidance Mentor Training Certificate and Lifelong Learning (stand-alone courses, Teacher Training certificate courses), do not require college transcripts, yet do require:

  • Completed program application - including full Date of Birth (MM/DD/YY) and High School
    • Select "Spiritual Guidance Mentor Training" if you are interested in the noncredit certificate program containing 5 courses.
    • Select "Lifelong Learning, noncredit courses" if you are interested in any of the Teacher Training Certificates or a single course.
  • Non-refundable $35 application fee taken at the time of application; within 24-48 business hours, you will receive a receipt upon confirmation of application.
  • An admissions essay (typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 font), details below
  • A scanned copy of the prospective student's government or state-issued photo identification card emailed to admissions@atlanticuniv.edu. (See Identity Verification Policy for more information).
  • Signed Financial and Enrollment Agreement emailed to the applicant upon application confirmation (24-48 business hours).
  • Video call interview (Zoom), scheduled upon receipt of all the above material.

Spiritual Guidance Mentor Training Certificate Essay Requirements

An original essay of 750-1000 words addressing the following (The essay must be typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 font, and emailed as a Word document or PDF to admissions@atlanticuniv.edu):

  • What are your personal, professional, and educational goals?
  • How will obtaining a Certificate in Spiritual Guidance Mentor Training (SGMT) help you achieve those professional, personal, and educational goals?
  • How do you feel about one-on-one mentoring, public speaking, and teaching workshops?
  • Tell us a bit about your background. Please include background on your personal and spiritual growth, personal spiritual practices (meditation, yoga, breathwork, etc.) your academic experience, workshops attended, and any other experiences and information you feel are relevant.
  • Since this program is almost exclusively hosted in an online, distance education environment, describe how you will stay self-motivated, independently organized, and focused on your studies

Lifelong Learning Essay Requirements

If you are applying to any of the Teacher Training Certificates or any other course single as a noncredit student, you will need to submit a 500-word personal essay addressing (The essay must be typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12 font and emailed as a Word document or PDF to admissions@atlanticuniv.edu):

  • Your interest in the university
  • Your personal and/or professional goals
  • How you feel about one-on-one mentoring, public speaking, and teaching workshops.
  • Since this university is almost exclusively hosted in an online, distance education environment, describe how you will stay self-motivated, independently organized, and focused on your studies.
