Founded in 2000, Amika Press is a small, independent publisher in Northfield, IL. We provide our authors with professional editing and design as well as paperback and ebook publication. Additionally, Amika authors receive a more favorable royalty arrangement than what is offered by traditional publishers.
Editing
Proofreading, copyediting and manuscript critique can be the difference between a draft and a completed manuscript. Authors often struggle to take an objective view of their own work. Professional editing brings out the true voice of your writing, making it strong, clear and consistent. We work with you to carefully craft a final manuscript ready for publication.
Design
Book design is more than simply a clean document. It enhances your story, through typesetting and cover design, to create an appealing product that completely engages readers. You choose from three unique layout styles, personally designed for your book. We typeset the manuscript in the chosen style, and work with you to create or contract cover art.
Publishing
Amika Press offers you the benefit of a professional imprint plus distribution and royalty management. If you are a Chicago-region author, we can meet with you personally for an initial consultation. We will also provide phone and email communication during the process of preparing your book. Equally important to authors, our unique business model allows for a 50/50 royalty split, which is more favorable than traditional publishers.
