EXPERTS ON KASHMIR

Understanding the politics of Kashmir poses a great challenge given the amount of misinformation, state funded propaganda, and vitriolic discourse that depicts Kashmiris as "treasonous terrorists" creating instability and grief for the "peaceful" country of India.  Rather than own up to its illegal authoritarian, colonial campaign in Kashmir, the Indian government continues to portray itself both as Kashmir's benevolent savior and as a victim of Pakistan-backed border violence, thus justify its alarming military crusade.

Fortunately, a growing body of academics, policy analysts, journalists, artists, filmmakers, and activists have engaged in in-depth research and analysis of Kashmir from several interdisciplinary vantage points.

Journalists can reach out to these individuals for quotes, opinion pieces, radio shows, podcasts, TV interviews, and more.

Organizers and community activists may reach out to organize events, talks, panels, and conferences.
