Checking in on the star phone is a man who’s sold over 75 million records as one of The Monkees -- and as a solo artist!Micky Dolenz is back on the Shannon in the Morning program to talk about his new album The Monkees Live: The Mike & Micky Show which is out now, recorded during Micky and Mike Nesmith’s 2019 tour shortly after the death of Peter Tork.

Fountains of Wayne, who passed away earlier this month due to
coronavirus complications, produced The Monkees' previous album
Good Times! back in 2016. That was their first new album in 25 years and charted in the top 20.
"I'm just sick to death over that," says Dolenz about the passing of Schlesinger. "Why is it always the good people? And then buttheads like me just keep going forever."
"I still think about it almost every day," Dolenz continued. "He was such a great guy, a gentleman... and funny, and so smart. And obviously an incredible producer, writer, performer. I wrote a song with him on 'Good Times!' I just can't believe it."
"That's by far the closest person to me that's been affected and I think about him all the time. What a loss."
