Climate change is one of the most important issues facing the built environment today. With real estate responsible for around 40% of the global carbon emissions, mounting pressure from regulators to decarbonise buildings means that real estate owners must be forward-thinking if they want to operate successfully and sustainably in the future. Properties are also vulnerable to impacts from changing climate systems, ranging from heat stress to sea level rise, to more intense severe storms.
