AS A JUNIOR (2023)
Started 66 games in 2023...Finished the season hitting .309 with 10 extra base hits and 2 home runs along with 41 RBI...Had a .989 fielding percentage.Â
AS A SOPHOMORE (2022):
Appeared in 39 games making 19 starts... Hit .313 for the year with 21 RBI and two homers.
AS A FRESHMAN (2021):
Appeared in 14 games making two starts... Went 4-for-11 for a .273 average with two doubles and four RBIs... Drew three walks and raised her on base percentage to .429 for the year.
PRIOR TO UT TYLER: Played the shortened 2020 season at Temple Junior College after graduating from Weslaco High School, where she played four seasons of both softball and volleyball… Played in 28 games in the shortened 2020 season at Temple College, batting in the middle of the lineup and leading the team in doubles (12), home runs (4), and RBIs (28) while batting .376 (32-for-85)… Prior to Temple, Escamilla was the 2019 District 31-6A MVP at Weslaco High School, following all-state second team and 32-6A offensive player of the year recognition as a junior in 2018… Started her prep career as an all-state honorable mention catcher and District 31-6A Newcomer of the Year as a freshman, adding 32-6A defensive player of the year and all-state second team honors as a sophomore.
PERSONAL: Chose UT Tyler because of her desire to learn to play at a higher level with players and coaches who will push her to be better… Parents are Alex and Sandy Escamilla… Has three sisters (Alyssa, Lexie, Caitlyn)… Sister, Alyssa, plays softball at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, while her cousin is Taylor Tafolla, a pitcher at Huston-Tillotson… Majoring in psychology with a minor in forensic science and would like to be a behavioral analyst after graduation.
