#WorldWaterDay reminds us of the need to invest in and better manage our water resources. By 2050, nearly half the global population is expected to live in areas with severe water stress, threatening health and economic growth. To help mitigate climate change and increase commercial water infrastructure investment opportunities, IFC - International Finance Corporation’s Utilities for Climate (U4C) initiative provides water utilities with advisory services, investment products, and knowledge-sharing partnerships. The Government of #Japan is the lead donor for U4C. 🔎 Discover more ➡ ifc.org/U4C #U4C #Utilities4Climate #IFCWater #IFCInfrastructure

In many countries, the existing water infrastructure provides neither comprehensive sanitation services nor adequate wastewater treatment. Lack of basic sanitation has negative environmental, health and productivity impacts, particularly for women and girls. During #WomensMonth and in celebration of #WorldWaterDay, we highlight the crucial role of water and sanitation companies in addressing gender gaps. Increasing women’s engagement in infrastructure projects improves the sector’s usage, cost recovery, and operations, and contributes to greater societal well-being and productivity.
