2019-2020 (Sophomore Season): Hammond avoided the sophomore slump and emerged as one of the top players in the Spartans offense…The Maryland native appeared in all 33 games this season and made 30 starts…Hammond led the Spartans in numerous categories including, total points (478), points per game (14.5), free throws made (128), free throws attempted (154), free throw percentage (.831), defensive rebounds (123), defensive rebounds per game (3.7), steals (39), total minutes (1060) and minutes per game (32.1)…His 83.1 free throw percentage ranked tops in the Big South and was the third best in USC Upstate Division I history…Against VMI (12/29/19) Hammond set new career highs in points (31), field goals attempted (20), three-pointers made (5), three-pointers attempted (9)…Hammond also set career highs in rebounds (10) at Longwood (1/4/2020) and assists (9) against Charleston Southern (2/10/20).
2018-19 (Freshman): Started in 11 of his 32 games played his freshman year, averaging 19.3 minutes per game. During the season, Hammond averaged 7.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He ranks third on his team in rebounds with 602 total boards, and third in steals with 22 on the season. Offensively he ranks fourth on his team in 3-pointers made with 33 on the season, and third in made field goals with 81 on the season. He had nine double digit games, including a season high 20 point game in a loss against Campbell (Feb 27).
High School: Graduated from St. Thomas More School where he lettered in both basketball and football…Concluded his career on the court scoring over 1,000 points…Was an All-Conference performer at St. Thomas…Playing on the club circuit, was invited to the AAU All-American Camp.
