The School Board receives an annual appropriation from the Florida Legislature titled, "Safe School Fund," which is used to fund School Resource Officers (SRO) and School Safety Programs.

The Board has entered into an Agreement for many years with Pasco County Sheriff's Office, City of New Port Richey and City of Dade City to provide SRO Programs in schools.  The attached Agreements will begin services on August 1, 2020, and continue through June 30, 2021.  The anticipated expenditure for 2020-2021 is $2,665,736.33 (an increase of $60,930.09 from last year), using Safe School and general funds.  The services covered under these Agreements are considered exempt from bidding as the services are regulated utilities or government franchised services as outlined in DOE's Section 6A-1.012(12)(g).

Respectfully submitted by Betsy Kuhn, Assistant Superintendent (813) 794-2203

Signed SRO Agreements were added on August 18, 2020.
