Office of Community Engagement
The Office of Community Engagement is comprised of the Community Affairs Section and the Heritage Affairs Section. Both Sections are responsible for working together to build and maintain positive relationships between law enforcement and communities throughout of the Commonwealth, with an emphasis on underserved communities. In addition, members assigned to these Sections provide public education regarding the role of law enforcement, in a continued effort to develop stronger relationships and increase trust.
Community Affairs Section
Members assigned to the Community Affairs Section work with a multitude of community groups and organizations; mental health advocacy groups; legislators; and municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to enhance relations between the public and law enforcement. The Community Affairs Section participates in a variety of educational and community outreach events and programs.

Heritage Affairs Section
Members assigned to the Heritage Affairs Section work with a multitude of community groups and organizations; mental health advocacy groups; legislators; and municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to enhance relations between the public and law enforcement. In addition to actively participating in a variety of educational and community outreach events and programs, the Heritage Affairs Section is responsible for developing and implementing training on discrimination, hate crimes/speech, ethnic intimidation, cultural diversity and sensitivity, and racial profiling. These subjects are taught to all Pennsylvania State Police Cadets; and, upon request, trainings may be provided to other law enforcement agencies, groups or organizations, and citizens.
