2021 (Redshirt Junior): Saw action in 15 games and made nine starts... Closed the year with a 4-4 record with 67 strikeouts and a 5.64 earned run average... Picked up his first win of the season at home against Memphis (4/2), as he worked 7.0 innings, allowed one earned run and struck out six... Came on in relief at home against Wichita State (4/17) and struck out five in 5.1 innings of work to pick up his second win of the year... Posted season-best totals in innings pitched (7.1) and strikeouts (11) to record his third win of the year at Memphis (4/24)... Closed out the year on a high note, as he worked 4.1 innings of relief and struck out nine in the American Athletic Conference to pick up his fourth win on the season. 

2020 (Junior): Made four starts on the mound for the Green Wave in his first season, all coming on Sunday in the weekend rotation… Finished the season with a 2-0 record and 4.19 ERA in 19.1 innings, allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on 13 hits with 15 strikeouts and 15 walks… Had an opponent batting average of .183… Made debut against Florida Gulf Coast, allowing a run on two hits with three strikeouts and two walks to earn the win (2/16)… Allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits with two strikeouts and four walks in 5.1 innings against Cal State Fullerton (2/23)… Struck out nine and allowed two runs on five hits with two walks in six innings to earn win over Southern (3/8).

Prior to Tulane: Made 14 starts on the mound in one season at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida, in the 2019 season, earning a 5-3 record… Had an ERA of 3.96 in 63.2 innings pitched, fanning 68 batters with 37 walks and allowing 43 runs, 28 earned, on 54 total hits… Was drafted in the 36^th round by the Texas Rangers organization… Before joining Santa Fe, he spent one season at the University of Tennessee making appearances in five games for the Vols in 2018, recording one save with a 6.86 ERA and 17 strikeouts through 21.0 innings of work… Had a streak of five straight appearances where he allowed just one unearned run for the Vols, earning his only save of the season against Maryland.
 
High School: A four-year player at Pensacola Catholic High School in Florida where he was a pitcher, and played at first and second base… Twice finished as a state runner-up as a freshman in 2014 and again as a senior in 2017 in one of the state’s larger classes… Earned state, region, district, region and league honors as a senior as the Crusaders finished the year 24-7, where he finished the year with a 2.33 ERA on the mound and at the plate hit .407 with seven home runs and 38 RBI… Was a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American… As a junior he set the record for the lowest ERA in PCHS history with a mark of 0.55, going 6-0 in 51 innings pitched, while hitting .355 at the plate with seven doubles… Was selected to the FACA All-Star Game and finished second in the high school home run derby… Was ranked as the No. 14 RHP and 50th overall player in the state of Florida by Perfect Game… Was an academic honor roll selection all four years.
 
Personal: Full name is Donovan Paul Benoit, born January 22… Parents are Paul and Sharon Benoit… Has one younger sibling, Islay… Intends to major in health and wellness.
