2022 (Redshirt Sophomore): Started in all 48 games for the Green Wave… Ended the year with a .260 batting average, 24 runs, 33 hits, four homeruns and 25 RBI… Was 78-26-105 in the field with just one error in the field leaving him with a .990 fielding percentage… Had three runs in three at bats versus Southeastern (3/1)… Recorded three RBI in the 11-10 win over Mississippi State (3/5)… Had the walk off to take the series versus Dayton (3/27)… Hit his first home run of the year versus UNO (3/29)… Had two doubles and two RBI versus South Alabama (5/10)… Totaled six hits in the AAC Tournament (5/24-5/28).

2021 (Redshirt Freshman): Saw action in 38 games and made 34 starts... Closed the year with a .265 batting average, eight doubles, 20 RBI and scored 18 runs... Was one of five players on the team that posted a slugging percentage over .400 for the year... Opened the year by driving in one run against Louisiana-Lafayette (2/19)... Collected a pair of RBI against crosstown rival New Orleans (2/23)... Drove in a pair of runs at eventual national champion Mississippi State (2/26)... Drilled his first home run of the season against nationally-ranked Louisiana Tech (2/21)... Collected a season-high three RBI against Memphis (4/2, game two)... Picked up eight hits over four games at Memphis (4/23-25), including a season-best four hits in the series finale... Notched a pair of hits in game two at ECU (5/8)... Suffered a season-end injury in the Green Wave's final series of the year at Cincinnati (5/20)/.

2020 (Freshman): Played in four games in his inaugural season with the Green Wave, earning one start at shortstop… Earned his first collegiate hit in his first at-bat Florida Gulf Coast with a run scored (2/16)… Scored a run against Southern (3/6).

High School: A four-year letterwinner at Lakewood High School in Colorado, primarily playing at the shortstop position… Served as team captain for the Tigers as a junior in 2018 and senior in 2019… Set school records in hits, doubles, runs, slugging, OPS and home runs… Was an honorable mention 5A all-state selection as well as an All-Jeffco league pick as a senior in 2019 where he produced a .452 average at the plate with 10 home runs, 25 RBI and 1.027 slugging percentage… Was an all-league and all-state pick as a junior after hitting .364 with seven home runs, 26 RBI and an OPS of 1.245… Earned his first all-league selection as a sophomore where he hit .379 at the plate, driving in 14 with three home runs and a .673 slugging percentage.
 
Personal: Full name is Simon Spalten Baumgardt, born October 19… Parents are Frank Baumgardt and Shayne Spalten… Has two sisters in Sydney and Sonya… Intends to major in business.
