NAHS Requirements
2021-2022
- Submit at least 2 pieces of original artwork for NAHS exhibits. (One for the fall semester due Fri. Oct. 1st, one for the spring semester due Fri. Feb 4th)
- Help setting up and running HVA’s Fine Arts Night, Feb. 18, 2022 from 3:30pm-9pm
- PERSONAL ART ENRICHMENT PROJECT: Due April 14, 2022 To submit, share a Google Doc or Google Slides presentation with Mrs. Woodyatt at elizabeth.woodyatt@knoxschools.org
- Option 1: Teach yourself a new art skill & then create a tutorial video or step-by-step google slides presentation. Is there an artistic technique or process that you have always wanted to learn? Use this project to teach yourself a new art skill. Research and document each step of this process in depth. Take photographs and videos and keep detailed notes as you learn. Plan on producing at least one artwork using this new skill. Create a video tutorial or google slides presentation that explains each step in depth. Your tutorial should be easy to follow for those interested in learning this process as well.
Please Note: You are responsible for providing materials for this project.
Assignment Reflection Questions:
- What new art skill did you choose to learn? Why did you choose this particular skill?
- Discuss your process for learning this skill (from beginning to end) - explain this in depth.
- What materials did you use? Where did you acquire these materials?
- Were you successful in learning your chosen art skill? Why/why not?
- Did you enjoy learning this new skill? Why/why not?
- Is your new art skill something that you will continue to use? Why/why not?
- What is some advice you would offer to others seeking to learn this skill as well?
- Option 2: Submit your artwork to an art competition. Research to determine an appropriate art competition or program to submit one of your original artworks to. This can be an online competition or a local competition.
Please note: you are responsible for paying any entrance fees for your chosen competition.

- Which competition are you submitting your work to? What is the appeal of this competition?
- How did you find your chosen competition?
- What steps did you take to prepare for this competition?

- What did you feel that you learned about submitting your artwork to competitions?
- Option 3: Complete an art-related career informational interview. Is there an art-related career that appeals to you for your potential future? Research your chosen career and reach out to a company/ professional in the industry to discuss what this career involves. Use the following to guide your research and interview:

- What are the job requirements/ qualifications needed (education, experience, etc.)?
