Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Post

A new MMWR report summarizes the clinical and epidemiologic characteristics of people with severe allergic reactions, or anaphylaxis, after receipt of the first dose of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. After use of more than 4 million first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, 10 people experienced anaphylaxis. Vaccination providers giving COVID-19 vaccines should screen recipients and have necessary supplies and staff available to manage these reactions. bit.ly/MMWR12221.
