Helping Bobcat Students Who Served In The US Armed Forces

In the photo above, US Navy Veteran Colby Berry chats with members of the Ohio University Bobcat Battalion as they wait for the football team to score another touchdown on their way to victory against Northern Illinois University on October 22, 2022.

Ohio University's Veterans and Military Student Services Scholarship Fund exists to support student veterans whose benefits have been exhausted: whether due to degree change, longer program requirements, or for a variety of other reasons.

Out of the roughly 700 veterans and currently-serving members enrolled at OHIO campuses, approximately 60 of these students need help throughout the academic year.

Some Facts about Veterans at OHIO:

  • 700+ veterans and currently serving members
  • Over 300 dependents and spouses using VA education benefits (transfer of entitlement or dependent education assistance)
  • 3,000+ students who have indicated some form of military affiliation: mom, dad, or self
  • Dedicated Veterans Lounge is scheduled to open in Baker Center in spring 2022
  • OHIO Has been awarded Military Friendly® status for 11 straight years
  • Ranked on Military Times' 2022 Best for Vets: Colleges
