Welcome to the Baileys Trail System! Located in the Appalachian foothills of Southeast Ohio, the Baileys will offer 88 miles of trails for every level of rider. The Baileys is built for all skill levels of cyclists, hikers, runners, adaptive athletes, hunters, and nature enthusiasts. Two trailheads are currently open--the Chauncey-Dover Park Trailhead and the Doanville-York Trailhead--with a third trailhead to be constructed in Buchtel. The Baileys Trail System began as a blank canvas. But thanks to the dedicated work of outdoor enthusiasts, it’s been transformed into a world-class trail system and, quite possibly, the premier mountain biking destination east of the Mississippi.

Our Regional Impact

The Baileys Trail System is truly connecting the small villages and cities of Athens County, Ohio. In doing so, it’s opening up the area’s unique culture and personality to visitors and locals alike. The end result will be increased spending in the region and a strengthening of the local economies in Southeast Ohio.

Wayne National Forest

The Wayne National Forest is a patchwork of public land that covers a quarter of a million acres of Appalachian foothills. In 2017, the Forest approved the Baileys Trail System and has been working with partners to finance and implement the project that promises to open up the area's natural beauty in a way that's never been available before.
