In advocating for this device, the Hospital is first in New York State and second in the nation to have this life-saving innovation that greatly improves the care we provide to the community."

We are thrilled to announce Tauana McDonald FACHE as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of Mount Carmel Health System, effective July 1, 2024. Tauana brings a wealth of experience to the role, having joined Trinity Health in 2003 and has served in numerous leadership positions, most recently as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Mount Carmel Grove City. Tauana is the first African American woman to lead as president and CEO in the 138-year history of Mount Carmel, marking a historic milestone for health leadership in Central Ohio. Her dedication to excellence and a values-driven approach have been instrumental in transforming our health system, especially during critical times of stabilization and growth. As we welcome Tauana into her new role, we look forward to her continued leadership and commitment to advancing our mission and serving the Central Ohio community. The recipient is recognized by peers as one who contributes to the advancement of nursing practice and demonstrates strength of character, commitment and competence. ⭐ Nomination Highlight ⭐ "Jennifer is empathetic to all she comes across within the hospital setting and in life. From the moment she walks into a patient's room, she is an emotional support for the patient and their family. She leaves no stone unturned and refuses to leave the room until she is sure the patient and family are comfortable with the care plan and cozy in their bed. Jen is a pleasure to work with, and she sets that bar high with her dedication to the patients she sees day in and day out."
