The multidisciplinary team at Loyola Medicine’s Men's Health Center provide expert patient care for the entire spectrum of men’s healthcare needs. From help with urinary problems and sexual dysfunction to preventive cardiovascular care, our team of men’s health specialists works together to improve patients’ long-term health.

Under the direction of department chair Christopher Gonzalez, MD, the center is led by Kevin McVary, MD, FACS, a nationally recognized urologist and leading expert in men's health. The team also includes a number of board-certified urology specialists, including Ahmer Farooq, DO and Denise Asafu-Adjei, MD.

Loyola provides a wide range of services, including treatment of disorders such as sexual dysfunction, kidney stones, urethral strictures, urination problems, sleep apnea and other sleep disorders, enlarged prostate and low testosterone levels.

While treating these conditions, the center also assesses men's other health needs, such as cholesterol and diabetes screening. Such assessments can detect underlying conditions such as cardiovascular disease, sleep disorders, cancer and diabetes. When indicated, the center will refer patients for further specialty care.

Using a holistic, preventive approach to men’s health, the center delivers gender-specific quality care to men in a supportive environment, backed by the research and teaching of an academic medical center.

At Loyola, we offer expert help for cancer care through diagnosis, treatment and beyond. Whether you are a patient or a supportive loved one, we are committed to helping you navigate your cancer journey by providing comprehensive cancer support services, including networking and support groups, therapy programs and special events celebrating survivorship.

What is Men's Health?

At Loyola Medicine, our multidisciplinary team of men’s health specialists works together to improve male patients’ overall long-term health. Paying attention to your health and being proactive about regular checkups is important to everyone. However, compared to women, men are more likely to put off going to the doctor for medical care.

The men's health experts at Loyola treat the entire scope of men’s health, from the issue that brings you to the doctor to early diagnosis and preventive care of common men’s health issues such as heart disease, colon cancer and high cholesterol.

Men’s health covers the entire spectrum of health issues that affect both sexes, as well as those that are experienced only by men, such as sexual dysfunction and prostate cancer. Loyola provides a wide range of services, including treatment of urological disorders such as kidney stones, urination problems and low testosterone levels.

While treating these problems, we address other health needs, such as cholesterol screening, sleep disorders, diabetes screening and colon cancer screening. Such assessments can detect underlying conditions such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, sleep apnea and diabetes. When indicated, our doctors will refer you for further specialty care.
