This position is in Dr. Datta's lab in the basic research division at the Emory Eye Center. The lab studies oxidative stress and mitochondrial defects in the retina in relation to age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The position will involve molecular biological investigation of mitochondrial dysfunction and cell death in human stem cell culture and mouse model systems. Prior experience in basic molecular biology techniques like PCR, western blots, and microscopy is desirable.
