Digital literacy is an essential 21st-century learning skill (Webber 2017). 

Integrating language provides opportunities for authentic vocabulary production (Webber 2017).

Engaging students’ natural interests & giving them assessments with an authentic audience to communicate via digital tools are proven to increase their success in language learning (Hafner, et al 2015) .

Mari Bodensteiner, M.Ed., is a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Her interests and expertise include curriculum and program development, peer-mentoring programs, and presentation skills training. Bodensteiner strives to create an effective learning atmosphere for all learners using authentic and communicative practices in her classroom.   

Ami Christensen, M.A. in TESOL, has been an educator for 15 years and leads the Intensive English Program at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Her interests include rhetoric and writing, English for professional purposes, and technology in education.  

Emily Claypool Offord, M.Ed. in TESOL, has been involved in international education for 11 years. She currently serves as a training specialist for Clemson University providing professional development for teachers. Her interests include culturally responsive teaching, empowering communication, and coaching as a means for improving teacher practice.
