2024 Spring Scholarship 

Deadline for submissions: April 26th, 2024

Eligibility:  

Applicant must be a valid resident of Fayette County, KY; must be enrolled in a community college, college, or university (anywhere in the world!) with a declared major or minor in agriculture, natural resources, environmental science, or related discipline; must possess a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

To Apply: 

Submit the following materials to Support@KYfccd.com by December 1, 2023

1)  completed application (include a separate page for clubs, jobs, etc.)

2)  a copy of your most recent transcript stating your school, major (if applicable), and GPA (unofficial is okay)

3)  minimum of 500 word essay on the assigned topic*; essay should be written in 3.5 essay format 

4)  a copy of your driver's license showing your Fayette County residency (those without a license are still encouraged to apply - please contact our office about submitting an alternate proof of residency)


*Essay Topic Spring 2024:

Conservation Districts serve as community support by linking county residents and farmers to essential resources related to agriculture and conservation. Each Conservation District is managed by a Board of Supervisors elected to oversee office operations. What benefits do conservation districts gain from having an elected group of supervisors, and how can this process help influence diversity? Extra points are awarded for writing in a 3.5 paragraph format.


This program is offered by FCCD to fund a one-time scholarship payment of $1,000.00.  

Two second place awards of $500.00 will also be granted on a one-time basis.
Students who have received the District scholarship are eligible to apply, however, scoring rubrics give advantage to first-time applicants.
