WE #PLAIDUP @ HHS! 

Every school in the KHSD gets evaluated on their PBIS structures each year. We are very proud of our Platinum status in 2023 and have continued to strengthen and deepen our PLAID (Pride, Leadership, Attitude, Integrity & Determination) systems of support during the 23-24 school year. At the end of last year's review the visiting team of TOSAs suggested continuing to teach PLAID expectations to not only certificated staff, but classified and long term substitutes, and community stakeholders as well. We have added classified members to our team and have been working to ensure PLAID is shared with everyone on Highland's campus. We have accomplished this by sharing information in faculty meetings and rewarded staff for their participation in the acknowledgement system. Surveys have also been created and distributed to our community stakeholders. We have done this at school events and in our substitute binder.

Our acknowledgement system rolled out halfway through the 22/23 school year last year, but this year, all students were trained at their grade level assemblies at the beginning of the school year to be able to see their points and to reinforce PLAID. It is also consistently shared through our Scots Weekly news videos that are shown to students at least once a week in their second period class. We will continue to self-assess at least twice a year by using both a progress monitoring and an action planning tool which we have successfully done this year. We look forward to continuing the work with students, staff, parents and community stakeholders in providing the most PLAIDtastic campus for all.
