Your help is requested this weekend to complete a portion of the custom home build for a former soldier and his family.

‘Volunteer Day’ takes place this Saturday north of Minatare at what will be the new, specially-adapted home for Staff Sergeant Tim Kramer, and Homes For Our Troops Executive Director Bill Ivey says you can get signed up to help online at hfotusa.org.

“There will be an RSVP button on Tim’s page on our website, just click on that, and fill out the information and it will give you all the information on where and when to be,” said Ivey. “It will be at the home site, registration starts at 9:30 a.m. on the 22nd, and we’ll start laying sod and planting trees and bushes at 10 a.m.”

Professional contractors are used for nearly all of the organization’s home builds, but volunteers are used to take care of the landscaping.

Ivey says with cooperation of the weather, he’s anticipating a key ceremony in late November – early December, turning the new home over to Kramer, his wife Cassidy and family.
