Volunteer Application for Operation: Home Repair

Here in the greater Schoharie region we have many homes that are in desperate need for care and basic maintenance, yet the homeowners do not have the capacity to pay for or do the repairs themselves.  Our Mosaic United Methodist Churches want to do something to help.  With our background in organizing mission work near and far, we have a vision of our local neighbors coming together to help other neighbors whose housing is inadequate.  We are planning a community-wide, week-long mission project this summer to do the most necessary repairs on homes right here in our own communities.

Our week of home repair will be July 24-29, 2023.  You can volunteer for the whole week, or just part of it.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers who can bring energy to this mission.  Whether you're experienced in construction, or you you're willing to learn something new, volunteer and be part of this amazing week of community-building.  There will be projects for adults and youth.

A Volunteer Training day will be planned for sometime in the early summer when volunteers will be assigned to a specific project under the direction of an experienced team leader.  During our planned work week, teams will meet at their assigned work site each morning of the work week with lunch provided onsite.  Some examples of work projects are roof replacement, small room additions, painting, building porches or ramps, and yard work.

Application deadline is May 15th.
