Project Background

NCDOT has awarded a grant from the Planning Grant Initiative to the City of Hendersonville to develop a Pedestrian Plan. This plan, Walk Hendo, looks to identify ways to make the City more friendly for people walking. The project began in spring 2022 and is expected to be completed in late summer/early fall 2023 (timeline is subject to change based on final review process).

Purpose

The purpose of this survey is to collect your thoughts about a proposed set of sidewalk and path projects that have been developed based on feedback received from the first round of Walk Hendo community engagement activities. Note: "walking" as used in this survey is intended to refer to personal, individual movement whether on foot, wheelchair, other mobility device, etc.

Who is it for?

This survey is for everyone who lives, works or visits Hendersonville.

How long will the survey be open?

We will be collecting responses to this survey through May 31, 2023.

What will we do with this information?

Your input will be used to create the Walk Hendo Pedestrian Plan. Once the Plan is adopted, the City and NCDOT can use it to direct how we build projects, make policy choices, build programs and events, and apply for new types of funding.
