Russ Eisenstein

Russ Eisenstein is in his 15th season as the "Voice of the Bobcats."  

He handles the radio play-by-play for football, men's basketball and baseball. Plus, he has the ESPN3 play-by-play for several men’s basketball games a season. In addition, he hosts the Tim Albin Show, Jeff Boals Show, Bobcat Sports Today, pregame show production, and is the face of Bobcat TV. In his time as the "Voice," Eisenstein has called 10 Bowl Games, 7 men's basketball NCAA Tournament games, women's basketball's 2015 NCAA Tournament game, baseball's 2015 and 2017 NCAA Tournaments and softball's NCAA Tournament in 2014. 
Eisenstein's career has included stints with five universities, a minor league baseball team and an NBA organization.

He spent two years as the studio host for the New Orleans Hornets when they were in Oklahoma City because of Hurricane Katrina. He hosted pregame, halftime, postgame, TV shows and talk shows. Also in OKC, he helped start an afternoon sports talk show. During his time in the NBA, he spent two summers calling Minor League Baseball for the Eugene Emeralds (Short Season Class-A).He left the Hornets to become the "Voice of the Idaho State Bengals"  in 2007.

Eisenstein also has handled the pre, half and postgame duties for Southern Illinois and Illinois State, play-by-play for baseball at both schools, and women's basketball at SIU. He's called Illinois Wesleyan football and baseball, and high school games in southern and central Illinois.

Eisenstein is a Bolingbrook, IL native. The 2002 graduate of Southern Illinois University is a two-time Emmy Award winner.
