Our DNP program consists of three (3) different pathways for students: MSN-DNP, BSN-DNP with a Nurse Practitioner Concentration, and BSN-DNP with a Nurse Anesthesia Concentration.

DNP Program Outcomes

A successful graduate of our Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at the UTMB School of Nursing will demonstrate the following:

Translate science and theory from nursing and other disciplines to create the basis for the highest level of nursing practice.

Apply current and emerging evidence to the provision of quality, holistic, and equitable person-centered health care.

Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to improve population health outcomes.

Evaluate evidence and nursing knowledge to inform nursing practice, improve health, and transform health care.

Apply principles of safety and improvement science to improve health care and health care systems.

Collaborate with other professionals and team members to improve health care systems and patient outcomes.

Demonstrate knowledge of ethical, regulatory, and legal standards and principles for selecting and using technology and information systems.

Participate in ethical leadership practices that promote accountability, life-long learning, self-reflection, nurse well-being, and advocacy for the nursing profession.
