Altenew May 2020 Washi Tapes Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Create backgrounds and cards with Altenew wide washi tape in minutes. Whether you love neutrals or rainbows, Altenew has a washi tape for you in their new release!

Altenew Wide Washi Tape Cards

As you can see, I created 3 cards for this release. Typically, I make a lot more. However, I had 16 creative deadlines in May causing me to limit the number of cards per post. Praise be that my creative mojo has returned!!

May 2020 Washi Tapes Full Release

Let’s take a closer look at all the lovely Altenew washi tape goodies! You know I’m crushing on the black and white tapes. But, those instant rainbows are spectacular too. What do you fancy?

Altenew Wide Washi Tapes

All the details to create these wide washi tape cards are in this short card making video. Watch here or in HD on YouTube. While you’re there I’d love it if you like, subscribe, and ring that bell.

Brushed Grid Washi Tape

As I said, I love the black and white washi tapes, so I grabbed the Brushed Grid Washi Tape first. And as promised at its release, I watercolored Delicate Bouquet Stamp Set.

Brush Grid Washi Tape & Precious Bouquet Stamp Set

Altenew Metallic Watercolor 14 Pan Set is stunning on dark cardstock, and they’re equally as beautiful on white watercolor paper. As with normal watercolor, color saturation builds with each layer of paint.

For this card, I painted with Aquamarine and Gold Pearl metallic pans.

After painting, I fussy cut the image and popped it up on an A2 sized white card panel covered with Brushed Grid Washi Tape. Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set and Calming Aqua Nuvo Crystal Drops finish the card.

Grand Stream & Many Dots Washi Tape

It’s funny, but I took one look at Grand Stream Washi Tape and knew I wanted to fussy cut the strips and pop them up. Remember to think outside of the box with your washi tapes, get creative, and have fun.

Altenew Grand Stream Washi Tape & Many Dots Washi Tape

Simply, cover a 4.25 x 5.5-inch (A2 sized) white cardstock panel with Grand Stream Washi Tape and fussy cut strips in varying widths. Run a strip of Many Dots Washi Tape across the bottom third of another A2 sized card front and pop up the Grand Stream strips.

Altenew Wide Washi Tape

A stacked Hello die-cut from Envelope Liner Die finishes off the card, no other embellishment needed.

Narrow Rainbow Washi Tape

If you love rainbows, but don’t enjoy inking each individual color, then Altenew’s new line of rainbow washi tapes are for you! Narrow Rainbow Washi Tape can create a retro or modern vibe in seconds.

Altenew Narrow Rainbow Washi Tape

Sometimes, I don’t want to measure. Instead of measuring, I grabbed a scrap of seafoam green cardstock and taped it to an A2 sized piece of white cardstock with Narrow Rainbow Washi Tape.

Adhere cardstock scrap with Narrow Rainbow Washi Tape

Then I trimmed the excess on my Cutterpiller Crop trimmer. So much easier than measuring!

Trim excess washi tape

Add a bit of glue under the colored cardstock and add a sentiment with Sentiment Strips 2 Stamp Set to finish the card. Clean and simple rainbow awesomeness!
