Support the Ohio History Fund

Hello Janet,

Tax time is here and the Ohio History Fund needs your help! It's one of the few grant programs in the state solely for local history and historic preservation projects. Your contribution to the “Ohio History Fund” tax check-off on your state tax return makes these grants possible.
  • Donate to the "Ohio History Fund" on line 26b of your Ohio tax return. Fill in a dollar amount and your tax-deductible donation will support history projects in communities across the state.
  • Promote the tax check-off to your family, friends, and colleagues. Go to ohiohistory.org/historyfund, where you’ll find fun materials you can use to spread the word.
  • Act now: the deadline to file income tax returns is April 18. Tax season is the time you can contribute using your Ohio income tax return. Most of the money the Ohio History Fund uses to make grants comes in between now and April.
Since the Ohio History Fund started in 2012, it's made 94 grants across the state for a total of nearly $870,000. There’s an even greater need. To date, the Ohio History Fund has received 474 grant applications totaling $5.7 million in requests.

The Ohio History Fund's tax check-off brought in more than $131,000 in 2021, exceeding 2020's total by nearly $12,000. We can do that again only because of you. The more the Ohio History Fund gets, the more it grants.

Thank you for your support!
