Teacher Appreciation Week
What better way to show our appreciation, than to pamper our wonderful Welby teachers and staff! We pulled out all the stops this year with gift bags, daily luncheons, customized door wraps, treats, massages and sound bath. We hope our teachers and staff feel loved and appreciated!

5th Grade Legacy Project
This year our 5th graders got involved in the community through the legacy project. This was a series of activities throughout the year where our kids were able to give back to the community they live in! We hoped that through these activities that we could begin to prepare the kids for a world in which they can be the change-makers.
First activity - Beach clean up at Malibu Beach. We learned about the accumulation of trash and how just picking up a few pieces of trash that we see at the beach can make a big difference.
Second activity - Hygiene kits for the homeless were created with a collection of items that all of Welby Way helped to gather. The 5th graders assembled almost 500 kits to be handed out in the community.
Third activity - Local hike and nature talk. We discussed what are the benefits of being in nature and how can we take care of our community and our world.
