Dr. Paul DeSandre (Emergency Medicine) was recognized as a leader, educator, and innovator who has an impressive track record of dedication to clinical care, teaching and service to his colleagues, his learners, and his patients. He has never once hesitated in his continued commitment and dedication to Grady. He remains positive and unflappable, always searching for the silver lining.

Dr. Pooja Amarapurkar (Medicine) is described as a clinician who “thinks of others even before thinking of herself, and genuinely wants to help everyone. She stays late, she took on an extra clinic, she works on extra projects, always tries to be there for the fellows and other colleagues.” It was evident in her numerous nomination letters that she embodied the Best Colleague Award.
Dr. Jordan Kempker (Medicine) is a clinician with a calm demeanor, is always supportive of his team, residents, APP and nursing colleagues alike. He has stepped up countless times to help cover clinical service needs including entire extra ICU weeks to help support increased demand.
