Support the Ohio History Fund

Hello Janet,

Tax time is here and the Ohio History Fund needs your help! The Ohio History Fund is one of the few grant programs in the state solely for history and preservation projects. Your contribution to the “Ohio History Fund” tax check-off on your state tax return makes these grants possible.
  • Donate to the "Ohio History Fund" line 26a on your Ohio tax return. Fill in a dollar amount and that’s it! Your tax-deductible donation goes to support history projects in communities across the state.
  • Promote the tax check-off to your members, friends, and associates. Go to ohiohistory.org/historyfund, where you’ll find promotional materials to share with your colleagues, volunteers, and members.
  • Act now: most people who contribute to the Ohio History Fund file returns by April 15. Most of the money the Ohio History Fund uses to make grants comes in between now and April.
Since the Ohio History Fund started in 2012, it's made 78 grants in almost 40 counties, for a total of nearly $739,000. There’s an even greater need: Ohio History Fund has received 437 grant applications totaling $5.3 million in requests!

The Ohio History Fund's tax check-off brought in nearly $120,000 in 2020 and we know this year we can match that with your help. The more we all give to the Ohio History Fund, the more grants it makes to preserve history in our state.

Thank you!
