We are honored that you are part of our amazing professional learning community. This issue will help start the new year and offer resources to support the implementation of instructional technology, digital citizenship, and computer science. ITI Professional Development Opportunities
ITI supports all schools district-wide with robust and rigorous professional learning by offering various models of support along a continuum to meet learners where they are. You can join our individual learning opportunities such as the Teacher Leader Network, ISTE Student Standards Suite; computer science sessions, or learn together as an Instructional Leadership Team through the Instructional Leadership Cohort. We invite you to join us in any of our learning sessions.

Practitioner Schools 6.0 Program

 
 
 
 
Congratulations to this year’s participating schools! The Practitioner Schools (PS) 6.0 Creative Communicator Program focuses on strategically and systematically ensuring that L.A. Unified students are granted intentional exposure to leveraging digital resources and to developing and integrating foundational 21st century practices within the K-12 classrooms. The goal is to create learning experiences that grant students opportunities to be interconnected and practice 21st century skills, computer science education, digital citizenship, and dispositions on a daily basis.

ITI Teacher Leader Network 2020-2021
The ITI Teacher Leader Network program focuses on strategically and systematically ensuring that L.A. Unified educators are granted intentional exposure to leveraging digital resources and to developing and integrating foundational 21st century practices within their K-12 classrooms. Teacher Leaders foundational 21st century practices within their K-12 classrooms. Teacher Leaders participate in a series of learning sessions to reflect upon and refine their practices to accomplish their self-selected goals.

Instructional Technology Planning Cohort (ITPC)
We invite school Instructional Leadership Teams (ILTs) to join us for a 3-day cohort to dialogue and develop an informed, effective school-wide plan for digital age learners. This is a professional learning opportunity which provides school Instructional Leadership Teams guidance in developing an Instructional Technology Plan for digital learning tailored to each school’s needs.

Dates: Day 1 November 22, 2021
   Day 2 November 23, 2021
   Day 3 November 24, 2021
Time: 9:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m.
Format: Virtual (2-hour Synchronous | 2-hour Asynchronous)

ITI Reaching Beyond the Classroom - Digital Citizen (Asynchronous Self-Paced)
This course is designed to support educators in preparing to engage with learners that need to be empowered to thrive in an increasingly evolving technological landscape. Through a variety of activities, this course will provide opportunities to learn L.A. Unified’s definition of Digital Citizenship, the District’s policies and best practices around engaging in digital learning environments, as well as provide a wealth of teaching and learning resources that educators can put into practice immediately. This course is offered through Schoology. The course can be completed at your discretion any time during the week since there will be no live webinar sessions conducted for this course.

Format: Ongoing Monthly - Asynchronous

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) with Jamboard

As we return to school SEL can help students and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals. In this video, you will learn how to support students by creating a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activity using Google Jamboard. Students will have the opportunity to use Emoticons to express their experiences with their class community. This will help to establish a learning environment where students feel and show empathy for others, and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions.

Their Summer Workshops are free and flexible, designed to give educators quality professional learning that fits in with vacation and summer school schedules.
