The Anne Braden Institute for Social Justice Research celebrates Black History Month and the contributions of Black leaders and changemakers from the past to the present. The significant contributions and history of Black people throughout the world are ever-present in our Institute's mission and vision.

We encourage your participation in the several Black History Month events happening at UofL and across the Louisville community.
Below are just a few that we know you will enjoy!

Also, just released...
As of last night, a new Jefferson County Public School opening next year will be named after the late Dr. J. Blaine Hudson. Dr. Hudson was one of the co-founders of the Anne Braden Institute and longtime dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at UofL. We can't think of a better way to celebrate Black History Month than celebrating the contributions of one of our own and his commitment to the Louisville community. Read more about the naming here.
