About

Jessine A. Monaghan manages government relations in the Americas for SABIC, a 50 billion dollar global manufacturer of chemicals, fertilizers, metals and plastics. SABIC has 40,000 employees in 50 countries across the globe. Prior to her current position, Jessine served in a variety of positions with the General Electric Company, including as government relations leader for GE Industrial and as leader of GE's Corporate Environmental Programs operations in Brussels, Belgium. Prior to joining General Electric she was in the private practice of law with Hunton & Williams (1981-1992). Jessine also worked for Sotheby's where from 1998-2000, she was Director and European Compliance Office in London, England; she developed and instituted a compliance program for the auction house's 25 locations in Europe, Israel, South Africa and Australia. Jessine received her B.A. with honors from Wellesley College in 1975 and her J.D. from Washington and Lee in 1979. While at W&L, Jessine was member of the International Moot Court Team, the Women Law Students Association, Omicron Delta Kappa, and a Burks Scholar. In recent years, Jessine has served W&L on the Consolidation Committee of the Strategic Plan, the Dean's Search Committee (former W&L Law Dean Rod Smolla), the Law Council (including as President), Class Agent, and on the DC Area Committee of the Rising Generation Capital Campaign. Other affiliations include: Immediate Past Chair of the National Trustees of the National Symphony Orchestra, Virginia State Bar, and District of Columbia Bar. She resides in Washington, DC.
