Marc-Andre Fleury is eligible for tonight’s game after all.

A day after being put on the NHL’s COVID-19 list and hours after morning skate where the Golden Knights prepared to dress two rookies in his absence, the team announced that Fleury’s test result Thursday was a false positive.

Fleury has rejoined the team and is expected to dress for today's 5 p.m. game against the Blues.

Fleury’s name was a surprise entrant onto the NHL’s COVID protocol related absences list. A player can be added to the list, which makes them ineligible to practice or play, for a variety of reasons, including a positive test, exhibiting symptoms, exposure or a travel-related quarantine.

Forward Ryan Reaves indicated after morning skate that Fleury was on the list because of a positive test, but the Golden Knights confirmed after more testing that it was a false positive.

Fleury is 12-5 this season with a league-best 1.73 goals-against average, .938 save percentage and four shutouts. He has not missed a game because of injury this season.
