AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — With bitter cold temperatures expected on Sunday, UCHealth announced the second dose vaccination site at Coors Field will move to the Bruce Schroffel Conference Center at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital (UCH).

About 1,000 patients will be notified of the change. Any of the parking lots near the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion 2 are available to park. Patients may arrive at their scheduled appointment time.

Additional staff members and wheelchairs will be available for mobility challenged patients who may be dropped off at the main hospital entrance.

Viewers sent the Problem Solvers this picture of vaccination efforts at the hospital’s campus last week. It shows older people waiting outside to get vaccinated in the hospital.

A spokesperson with UCHealth tells the Problem Solvers: “We have our clinic today and there is no one waiting outside and short lines inside. As long as people don’t arrive early, we’ll get everyone through just fine.”

State-partnered testing sites are closed or delaying their openings due to the weather. The governor is encouraging everyone to find an indoor testing site or quarantine at home until the cold weather passes.

UCHealth says the second dose event on Feb. 20 and 21 at Coors Field is still on schedule.
