Employee Guidelines for COVID-19 Symptoms/Exposure and Returning to

Work

 

All UC Health, UCP, agency and contracted employees must follow the process for

sections A through C.

 

  1. If employees have respiratory symptoms and have not tested:
  2. Stay off work for three days from symptom onset.
  3. May return to work if fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
  4. Wear mask upon return for ten (10) days from date of symptom onset.
  5. Upon return, you are not to work in immunocompromised areas for 14 days from symptom

onset.

 

  1. If employees are tested for COVID and are positive:
  2. Stay off work for five (5) days from date of symptom onset.
  3. May return to work on day six (6) with a negative antigen test.
  4. If the employee continues to test positive between day six (6) and ten (10), may return on day

eleven (11) if fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications and

symptoms are significantly improved.

  1. If an employee returns at day six (6) through day nine (9), wear a mask through day ten (10)

from symptom onset. If returning on day eleven (11) masking is not required.

  1. Upon return, you are not to work in immunocompromised areas for 14 days from symptom

onset.

 

  1. If you are exposed (defined as ≥15 minutes within 6 feet without use of PPE):
  2. Continue to work as long as you don't develop symptoms.
  3. If you develop symptoms, follow A or B above, depending on whether you choose to test.

 

For UC Health employees only:

 

  1. If you are off work for more than three days, and have a positive COVID test, send the following information to the

UC Health Leave of Absence Team at UCHLOA@uchealth.com:

  • Send picture of positive test. On positive test write the following:
  1. Employee name
  2. Employee ID number
  3. Date of symptom onset
  4. Date of positive test

 

  1. If you have had a workplace exposure, please call the UC Health Injury/ Exposure Line at 513-
