Hospital Services

The Miller campus will be a full-service children's hospital providing nearly all the specialty pediatric services of our Salt Lake campus. The new five-story, 66-bed Primary Children’s Hospital campus will provide trauma and emergency services, behavioral health, intensive care, and surgical and clinic services not available elsewhere in Utah County.

Caregivers Cheer First Patients Cared for at New Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, Miller Family Campus in Lehi on Historic Opening Day

The first three patients at the new Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus in Lehi were welcomed with cheers and applause from about 400 caregivers preparing to care for patients on a historic opening day for pediatric care in Utah.

Following more than three years of construction and decades of planning, the second campus of Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital was dedicated in a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Project Milestones

Groundbreaking

On Nov. 19, 2020, Intermountain Healthcare leaders, community representatives, and patients broke ground on the hospital in a virtual ceremony. During the ceremony, officials announced the name of the new hospital site will be the Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus, which will honor the Miller family's support and vision for children's health and wellness in the Intermountain West. 

Topping Off

On Tuesday, June 22, 2021, Primary Children’s marked a major milestone in the project with a traditional “topping off” ceremony.

The final steel beam was lifted into place by crane as a small gathering of Intermountain and Primary Children’s Hospital leadership, construction and architect teams, Lehi City, Foundation leaders and donors looked on. In the days leading up to the event, the beam was signed by hundreds of people, including community members, donors, patients, caregivers and others with interest in the project.

Caregiver Donor Open House

On October 22, 2022, caregivers gathered at the hospital site to celebrate the latest progress in building the nation’s model for children’s healthcare. Guests were invited to sign a wall that will become part of the new hospital.

Dedication Ceremony

The Miller Family Campus Historic Dedication Ceremony & Ribbon-Cutting took place on Friday, February 2, 2024. This ceremony was a historic milestone in our Primary Promise vision to build the nation's model health system for children.

Together, we’re working to ensure that top-quality children’s healthcare will be more accessible to families across the Intermountain West.

First Day of Patient Care

Kylee Jackson, age 12, Marissa Kauffman, age 14, and Kaylee Rasmussen, age 11, were the first patients treated.

Hospital Leadership

We're not just building a hospital, we're building an expert team of caregivers! Lisa Paletta, President of the Primary Children's Miller campus, announced her Administrative Council and Leadership Team in this update.

Lisa Paletta, RN, serves as president of the Primary Children’s Lehi campus. Paletta has been with Intermountain Healthcare for more than two decades. She  oversees the new hospital campus design and construction and is leading the hiring of an administrative team and caregivers.

Paletta led Alta View Hospital during its recent reconstruction and played a key role in the development, design and construction of Utah Valley Hospital’s outpatient building and patient tower in her work as chief nursing officer there. She has also served as administrator of Alta View Hospital and worked as former assistant vice president of Integrated Care Management for Intermountain.

Christopher Miller, MD, serves as chief medical officer of the Primary Children’s Lehi campus. As chief medical officer, Dr. Miller works in partnership with administrative, physician and nursing leaders to help define, establish, and direct clinical care teams, provide medical direction and leadership and serve as a liaison between the medical staff and hospital administration.

Dr. Miller has over a decade of experience at Primary Children’s, where he also serves as Medical Director of Medical Affairs with concurrent leadership roles with the University of Utah Department of Pediatrics and the Intermountain Med/Surg Operation Lane. He completed his undergraduate work at University of Montana and received his medical degree from University of Utah School of Medicine. He has remained active in academic research, other scholarly activities, and quality improvement projects throughout his career, and completed his Master of Healthcare Administration in 2020.
