CPP INVESTS:
Funded Micro-Internships for Future STEM Talent
Cal Poly Pomona Intentional Venture Engaging STEM Students (CPP INVESTS) is a National Science Foundation funded grant (Award #2122567) aimed at improving undergraduate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education at Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI). CPP INVESTS aims to enhance the quality of undergraduate STEM education and the recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of STEM students at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) by expanding student pathways to continued STEM education and integration into the STEM workforce.
As part of this program, CPP students will participate in short-term, paid, remote projects that build provide professional experiences and highlight essential skill development as part of a required academic course. The Micro-Internships will be funded through the CPP INVESTS grant program where the student will receive $300 for a 20-hour micro-internship project or $600 for a 40-hour micro-internship project.
Non-profit, public service or government organizations are eligible for CPP INVESTS micro-grants and will be working with CPP students who are completing the project as part of their course. Projects can begin at any time as long as funding is available.
