Additional Advocacy Resources

Dreamer Advocacy Resources

Dreamers are undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as a child. Approximately 3.6 million Dreamers currently live in the U.S., and around 700,000 of them receive some protections under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). A court case challenging the legality of DACA is pending in Texas, and a permanent legislative solution for Dreamers continues to be urgent.

Farmworker Advocacy Resources

Approximately 1.2 million undocumented farmworkers live and work in the U.S. These immigrant farmworkers help bring food to our tables and provide needed assistance to American farmers. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, they have continued to show up day after day to help with the essential work of feeding the nation. Growers and farmworker advocates, typically opposed, have together made it clear that a legislative solution to legalize undocumented farmworkers workers and reform the agricultural visa program is urgently needed

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Advocacy Resources

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) has been granted by DHS to approximately 300,000 individuals who are unable to return home safely due to conditions or circumstances preventing their country from adequately handling the return. Many TPS holders in the U.S. have lived in the country for decades, opening businesses, raising families, and contributing to the U.S. economy. Most TPS holders had their status terminated by the Trump administration, and their only current protection from removal is ongoing litigation. They live in limbo, in urgent need of a legislative solution.

Afghan Evacuation Advocacy Resources

The U.S. evacuated more than 123,000 people from Afghanistan, including tens of thousands of Afghan allies, parolees, and their families. These individuals have been vetted and now are in the process of being resettled in the United States, where Americans have shown a heartening desire to welcome and help them. But they still face uncertainty, and potentially a very long road to full lawful permanent resident status and eventual citizenship. They will continue to live in limbo unless Congress can pass a legislative solution, such as an Afghan Adjustment Act.
