Biography

2022 (Redshirt Junior)
  • Appeared in all 29 matches and one of four player to play in all 107 sets
  • Started 22 matches as a defensive specialist
  • Scooped up 211 digs, averaging 1.97 digs/set
  • Dished out 46 assists and dealt eight service aces on the season
  • In her first UH start at libero, recorded the most digs by a Rainbow Wahine since 2018 with a team individual match-high and career-high 28 digs in a four set win over UC San Diego (10/8/22) 
  • In same match vs. UCSD, tied her career-high with six assists as well. 
  • Posted a career-high four service aces in a four set win at Cal Poly (10/15/22)
  • For the season, recorded five double-dig matches.
  • Named to the Big West Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Prior to UH:
  • Appeared in 191 sets and 58 matches as a defensive specialist/libero during her Michigan State career (2018-21)
  • Played her freshman season in 2018 then received a medical redshirt year in 2019. Played in the 2020 Covid year and in 2021.
  • As a Spartan, recorded 298 digs while averaging 1.56 digs/set with 60 assists and 25 service aces in her career
  • Led Michigan State with 238 digs in 2021 while serving as team captain
  • In the classroom, she earned Academic All-Big Ten honors twice (2019, ’20)
  • Earned her Bachelor's of Arts in human development and Family Studies with double minors in Youth & Society and Women's and Gender Studies this past December
 
Prep:
  • A 2018 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School
  • Earned a total of 13 varsity letters in volleyball (4), basketball (4), softball (4), soccer (1) and competed in track for one season
  • Earned all-conference first team honors in four sports, volleyball, basketball, softball and soccer
  • In volleyball, earned all-conference honors four times, all-region three times, and all-state honorable mention honors as a senior
  • Three-time First Team All-Conference selection in softball, two-time MVP, and captained the team as a senior
  • Finished Maroon Giants career as the school’s all-time leader in digs and second in service aces
  • In the classroom, earned Academic All-State honors in both volleyball and softball
  • A member of the National Honor Society
 
Personal:
  • Enters UH as a post-baccalaureate student who is working towards the social work Master's program.
  • Has three brothers … brother Alika currently plays basketball at Kellogg Community College.
  • Parents are Lawrence and Elizabeth (Peka) Edmonds
  • Father, Lawrence, played basketball and was the team captain at Nazareth College. He served in  the United States Army and is a graduate of both Army Airborne and Ranger School
  • Mother, Elizabeth "Peka" (Malae) Edmonds grew up in Honolulu and helped to lead the UH-Hilo volleyball team to an AIAW championship in 1981 and four consecutive NAI‘A National Championships from 1981-84…earned NAIA All-America second team honors and was voted to the NAIA National Championship All-Tournament First Team in 1984 … was inducted into the UH-Hilo Vulcan Hall of Fame twice—once as an individual in 1998 and secondly, as a member of the 1981 team which won two national championships (AIAW, NAIA) in the same season
  • As a kid, she used to attend the Rainbow Wahine volleyball camps during the summers and chose to transfer to UH because it was always a dream of hers to play in Hawai‘i in front of family and the Hawai‘i volleyball community whose support is unmatched
