Support for Dalton

On Friday, May 21, 2021 Dalton came home from his after-school job after 11 p.m. to find his mother collapsed on the floor.  He tried to wake her but unfortunately, he could tell she was already gone. When the paramedics arrived, the worst nightmare for Dalton was confirmed.

Dalton is an only child and he was his mom’s whole world.  She was his sole parent and provider as his father has never been a part of or present in Dalton’s life. He is a very responsible young man and works hard at both school and work. He is a Jr. in high school, where he is a good student and is studying Aviation Maintenance. He also loves being a chef in training at the restaurant where he works after school.

Dalton is heartbroken and we are heartbroken for him.  No 17-year-old should have to bury their mom and also have to worry about how they are going to manage everything, finish high school, go to college, along with everything else that he has to deal with now. He does have an uncle to stay with but there will be legal fees and because there’s no will, everything will be in probate.  We have no idea how long it will take to get things settled but have been told it could take a long time, even a year or more, not to mention the cost of attorneys and other fees.

We, as his cousins, want to help take the burden off him as much as we can and help him through this nightmare. His mother loved him so much and would not have wanted him to have all the financial burden of everything coming up on top of finishing high school.  We have come together to start this fundraiser to help Dalton with the costs and to allow him to take the time to grieve and heal through this shocking sudden tragedy.
