2019-20: Appeared in all 31 games starting in 27. Rooney averaged 11.1 points while shooting 45.8 percent from the field. Shot 70.5 percent from the free throw line. Led the conference in rebounds averaging 10.8 per game. Totaled 40 blocks. Broke the single-season rebound record with 337 total rebounds. Set the single-game rebound record with 22 rebounds vs. William Jessup (11/22). Season high 20 points vs. Lewis-Clark State (2/20). Named Frontier Conference Freshman of the Year. Selected honorable mention all-conference. Named Frontier Conference Player of the Week twice.

High School:  Rooney played prep at Broadwater HS. Rooney, a three-time First Team All-State selection, finished her career with 1,297 points and 1,022 rebounds. The Townsend product averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds a game as a senior. Rooney turned in 19 double-doubles and had 51 during her entire high school career. Rooney also averaged over 2 blocks a game finishing with 60 on the season.

Rooney was the Helena Independent Record Player of the Year in 2017 and a two-time selection to the Great Falls Tribune Super State Team. She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the state tournament in 2018. Rooney was also a USA Today Second Team selection.

Rooney competed in volleyball for the Bulldogs as well. The two-year team captain was selected All-Conference.

Rooney was named Academic All-State eight times in the two sports. She is a member of the National Honor Society.

Personal: Tavia is pursuing a degree in Applied Health and Safety Science.
